Paid Placement Program at NextGem: Complete Your Placement, Gain Experience, Build Your Career

Australia’s health care, community services, disability support, social work, and mental health sectors are rapidly growing and face an increasing demand for skilled workers.
For students, completing mandatory placement hours is essential, but it is no longer enough. What makes the real difference is hands-on experience and the confidence to transition into the workforce.
That is why NextGem has developed the Paid Placement Program – a structured initiative that allows students to fulfil academic placement requirements while gaining paid, practical experience and building long-term career opportunities.
What does the Paid Placement Program offer?
- 120 hours of supervised placement in real workplace settings.
- Paid employment under Fair Work standards (from $32.56 per hour).
- Direct exposure to aged care, disability support, youth work, and mental health services.
- Professional supervision and structured feedback throughout your placement.
- Enhanced employability with a reference letter, performance review, and industry connections.
Who is it for?
The Paid Placement Program is designed for students currently enrolled in:
- Certificate III/IV in Individual Support (Disability or Aged Care)
- Certificate IV in Mental Health
- Certificate IV in Youth Work
It is ideal for students who must complete mandatory placement hours, wish to gain additional income, and want to prepare for a meaningful career in Australia’s care and community sector.
Why choose NextGem?
- We not only arrange your placement but also support you throughout the entire process.
- Students develop professional communication, workplace conduct, and teamwork skills in a multicultural environment.
