Program Overview

  • The Paid Placement Program 120 is a structured, paid internship designed for students undertaking qualifications in aged care, disability support, youth work, and mental health.
  • It integrates your mandatory placement hours with real, supervised work experience—allowing you to earn an income while gaining practical skills in real care settings.
  • Over 120 supervised hours, you’ll work directly with clients and care teams in aged care homes, disability services, youth programs, or mental health organisations, while being paid under Fair Work standards (from $32.56/hour).
  • This is more than just a placement—it's your launchpad into a meaningful, purpose-driven career in Australia’s care sector.

Who is it for?

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability or Aged Care)
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health
  • Certificate IV in Youth Work
This program is ideal if you:

To be eligible for this program, you must:
  • Be currently enrolled in one of the eligible Certificate III or IV qualifications
  • Have valid working rights in Australia (international students welcome)
  • Be available to complete 120 placement hours within an agreed timeframe
  • Hold or be willing to obtain:
  • Demonstrate responsibility, professionalism, and strong communication skills
  • National Police Check
  • Working with Children Check (if required)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (highly recommended)

Yes. All placements are designed to align with the training package requirements of your course and are approved by your RTO
Will this placement count towards my course requirements
You will actively engage in day-to-day work, supporting clients, completing tasks, and collaborating with professional teams. This is hands-on experience—not observation.
Will I be actively working or only observing during placement?
Yes. You will be paid a minimum of $32.56/hour in accordance with industry standards and your assigned role.
Is the placement paid?
Yes. You will receive a placement log, hours verification, supervisor feedback, and an official reference letter.
Will I receive proof of placement hours and performance?
While employment is not guaranteed, many host organisations are actively recruiting and offer positions to high-performing placement participants.
Will I be offered a job after placement?
